Running 03:55
I don’t know what we’re always running from But we keep the motor running til we die And I don’t know what we’re always running from But we keep the motor running til it goes You hold me incredibly and devastatingly close We feel what we are and act in accordance A veil has been lifted and we’re giving up control Cause the last ones lead lives of desperation I don’t know just what we’re always running from But we keep the motor running til we die And I don’t know just what we’re always running from But we keep the motor running til it goes You hold me incredibly and devastatingly close We feel what we are and act in accordance A veil has been lifted and we’re giving up control Cause the last ones lead lives of desperation There’s no heroes with hearts of gold Start it over again There’s no heroes just winding roads Start it over again A sea of red tail lights lighting up the river styx Cruise control halo when they’re squirming in the pits There’s a crown of thorns poking at your fingertips Glorifying martyrs while their suffering persists And I don’t know just what we’re always running from But we keep the motor running til we die And I don’t know just what we’re always running from But we keep the motor running til it goes You hold me incredibly and devastatingly close We know what we are and act in accordance A veil has been lifted but it’s good to be (here now / with you) Cause the last ones lead lives of immolation

Yearning 02:57
Yearning to dispense with novelty but no one liked it Yearning for the days when you were a brutal tigress Back to the place where apathy so uninviting Beneath the vines that’s where you’ll find it And you try to go back to there You used to have conviction. Decaying earth beneath our soles, take us back to what we were

†† 03:20
I double back and cross my path again, wondering what it was I might have seen in that direction I double back and cross my path again, wondering what it was I might have seen in that direction Misplaced faith in marketing schemes, humility placed in mindless machines. I double back and cross my path again, wondering what it was I might have seen in that direction Buzzing static in your skull, wet grass beneath your soles I hope to see you soon. I pray for the moon I double back and cross my path again, wondering what it was I might have seen in that direction I double back and cross my path again, wondering what it was I might have seen in that direction Disheartening resilience to transformation, just as dream worlds give sway to nightmares I double back and cross my path again, wondering what it was I might have seen in that direction Buzzing static in your skull, wet grass beneath your soles I hope to see you soon. I pray for the moon

Locusts 02:44
3 a.m. is a solemn time Apparitions in the witching hour We circumnavigate the pitfalls Of tired truths and worn-out prospects It’s summertime when the locust spits Remember once you told me A face descended in your dreams And he told you everything belonged to, belonged to I had a dream about this. She wrapped her hands around my neck Tossed around the underdark, jarred awake and reality set It’s summertime when the locust spits Remember once you told me Things changed when you saw a body Now there’s no more buzzin on the western side No more buzzin on the western side. All those years swept into dust Too much time spent fucking off You can never give enough Until the atom splits, until the atom splits And when you awoke, you went outside and you saw the sun All the dreams of yesterday dissipate in a violent haze And everything has been reborn, and everything is in its right place And everything is where it should be, and everything just fell to pieces The smoothest parts slipping under Slipping under

Monsters 03:34
Sirens blaring east and west Structure burning up and down Turn the lock and break the key I was thinking you and me You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy Old worlds are dying out Old worlds are dying out New ones to be reborn New ones to be reborn You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy Sirens blaring east and west Structure burning up and down Turn the lock and break the key I was thinking you and me You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy Carnivore dogs ride in the shade pumping their brakes (?) Destined to break, carnivore dogs don’t tell me to wait Carnivore dogs you’ll be too late Living mundane sisyphean smile day after day day after day Fading into eternity to the sound of coffee stained lullabies Lines of text depart as quickly as they arise like evaporating daydreams [Indiscernable] for getting lost in those dense thickets Carnivore dogs don't tell me to wait Carnivor dogs drawing on pain Don't tell me to wait Living mundane sisyphean smile day after day day after day Old worlds are dying out Old worlds are dying out New ones to be reborn New ones to be reborn You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy You can’t destroy monsters with whimsy No.

Succumb 02:53
The quickest path To self immolation The generative ethos Of all generations So sick and tired So sick and empty Try to pick up the pieces That get lost in the ether Yeah maybe doesn’t matter Doesn’t matter to me either Overstimulation Look at the people Decaying necropolis Carving out a window To a new world To a new world You never meant to You never meant to Open it up (x??) Bleeding dry Bones are numb You never meant to You never meant to become

Zen 03:22
Hurling through the long abyss Suffering's a noble truth (for you) (for you) Burning feet on placid pavement It's not gonna last forever (for you) (for you) Can you find peace of mind Constant flail and tunnel vision Wandering through vapid schisms (for you)(for you) Alpha waves ebb and flow Burning minds in chromacast (for you) (for you) Waves crashing can't subside Well the mountain's high You can't go the whole way Maybe not this life Maybe not the next one And so you told me Told me how it felt To feel it most with Noise falling all around Hurling through the long abyss Suffering's a noble truth (for you) (for you) Burning feet on placid pavement It's not gonna last forever (for you) (for you) Constant flail and tunnel vision Wandering through vapid schisms (for you)(for you) Alpha waves ebb and flow Burning minds in chromacast (for you) (for you) lotus blooms in the wild

Moments 02:58
Everyday, vivid dreams fall from my head Used to wield words as weapons, but I must have dulled the edge Years go by faster in this bucket that I’ve bled Ancient heartbeats fade, my mind grows duller instead I sip the salty slumber, etch runes into my knuckles Think in certain spans of characters and numbers Grow circles ‘round my eyelids Burn the rest, papyrus And await the day again when there’s fire in my iris I can’t wait for these moments to grind me into nothingness Ancient capillaries fan out like catacombs, catacombs From your rotten mouth, spill seraph tones, seraph tones I sip the salty slumber, etch runes into my knuckles Think in certain spans of characters and numbers Grow circles ‘round my eyelids Burn the rest, papyrus And await the day again when there’s fire in my iris I can’t wait for these moments to grind me into nothingness
9.
Rain 03:19
Pray for rain It’s coming to me Isolated That’s how it should be And when it’s raining It’s all I see When it’s raining It’s all I see It’s all I see Windshield breaks After days of drought Wash away All the doubt Emaciated It’s coming to me Emancipated It’s all I need It’s all I need
10.
Terrarium 04:02
When it comes breaking through the window Of your terrarium When it all comes spilling over I hope you find your way I hope you find the way I hope you find your way out I hope you find what’s best Like water boiling over On growing blades of grass Grains of rice come spilling over I hope you find your way I hope you find the way I hope you find your way out I hope you find what’s best

about

Red Tank! is a post-punk, art punk, and garage rock project which began in Phoenix, AZ, but is currently based in Brooklyn. The band has an emphasis on high energy songs and performances, as well as existential and politically-charged lyricism.

Since its inception in 2009, Red Tank! has independently released three studio records, a number of splits, singles, and EPs, and performed on various regional tours throughout the United States (on the East Coast, West Coast, and at SXSW). We’ve cultivated a small but loyal fanbase throughout the years with a reliance on DIY ethos and unique and earnest sonic expression.

This collection of songs has been labored over for the past four years in bedrooms (in AZ, CA, and NY) and studios (in AZ and CA). It’s a record largely inspired by the latent fantasy and horror in the political imagination -- and the path to a new world as a process of constant becoming.
